January 4th, 2026 — Germination Season Continues
The third wave of our pepper germination 2026 cycle is officially in the chamber. This batch was planted on January 4th, 2026, and continues our push toward another season of superhots, rare varieties, and specialty peppers here at Harmony Springs Farm.
As always, we’re tracking everything closely so growers can follow along with our process, compare germination timing, and see what’s coming down the pipeline for spring.
Wave Three — Pepper Germination 2026 Varieties (1/4/26)
This wave includes a mix of superhots, rare crosses, and high‑demand varieties. Here’s what went into Geminator 1 for this planting cycle:
Taj Mahal
Wicked
7 Pot Chocolate
Primotalii Chocolate
Basket of Fire
Peach Reaper
7 Pot Primo
7 Pot Primo Chocolate
Coyote Teeth
Reaper of Death Orange
Scorpion BTR
7 Pot Lava Yellow Scorpion
This group rounds out the final early‑January planting and sets us up for a strong start to the pepper germination 2026 season.
What Happens Next in Pepper Germination 2026
As soon as this first wave starts popping, we’ll shift into germinating our medium‑heat and milder pepper varieties. Right now every chamber we’ve got is running at full capacity, so the next round will begin as soon as trays open up.
This staggered approach keeps our workflow tight and ensures every variety — from superhots to jalapeños and specialty peppers — gets the consistent heat and humidity it needs for strong germination.
Conditions & Setup
Just like the earlier waves, these seeds went into our controlled‑environment germination chamber to maintain:
80–85°F heat
consistent humidity
stable airflow
even tray temperatures
The chamber doesn’t necessarily speed up germination, but it keeps everything consistent, which saves us hours of labor when it’s time to up‑pot.
Why This Wave Matters
This batch includes several peppers that are:
high‑heat superhots
rare color variants
popular crosses for collectors
high‑yield producers for powders and fresh pods
Wave Three is where we lock in the varieties that need a little extra time, warmth, and consistency to hit their stride before transplanting.
What’s Coming Up
We’ll update again once this wave starts germinating. Expect:
early germination notes
tray‑by‑tray progress
any slow starters
heat mat adjustments
moisture management updates
Germination season is officially in full swing, and once these trays start popping, the whole farm shifts into seedling mode.
