January 2nd marks the official kickoff of our 2026 pepper season here at Harmony Springs Farm. While most folks are still easing out of the holidays, we’re already in the grow room loading trays, checking heat mats, and firing up both germination chambers for the first big push of the year.
And for those who follow the old planting signs — the moon was in the Breast when we seeded these trays. That’s a traditional “fruiting sign,” and around here it’s always been considered a good time to start peppers. We’ll take every bit of good luck we can get.
Below is the first official germination wave of 2026.

What This Means for 2026
This first wave is heavy on superhots, specialty crosses, and the Tiberius Mauler line — the backbone of our 2026 field and tunnel season. These seedlings will eventually become:
plants we’ll sell once they’re hardened off and ready
the peppers that go into our powders
the genetics we save for next year’s seed stock
the varieties featured in our YouTube grow‑along series
We’re actively working through the logistics of bareroot shipping, but for now these trays represent the core of what we’ll be offering as live plants this spring.
We’ll keep posting updates as trays pop, roots develop, and the grow room fills up. Here’s to a hotter, stronger, and more productive 2026 pepper germination season.
