Western Eugenii Frank is an uncommon basketmaker's willow that you'll rarely find offered in the US. It was a favorite of the basketmaker it's named for, and it grows into vigorous stools with long, reddish rods for basketry and living willow work.

Hand-cut from our own coppiced stools at Harmony Springs Farm in Blountville, Tennessee.

GOOD FOR - Basket weavers looking for something different - Longer weaving rods - Living willow fences, fedges and hedges

FROM OUR BEDS This is one of our strongest varieties. Our best second-year Western Eugenii Frank stools put up rods about 8 ft tall, around 20 rods per stool.

A NOTE ON THE NAME We grow and sell this willow under the name it came to us with. Its exact species hasn't been confirmed, and we'd rather tell you that than guess.

PAIRS WELL WITH Dark Dicks for larger basketry rods, or Holland for tall, straight rods.

GROWING Full sun, moist to wet soil. Coppice every winter for the straightest rods.

WHAT YOU GET 10 dormant willow cuttings, 10-12 inches, bundled and labeled, with planting instructions.

SHIPS IN WINTER Cuttings are harvested while dormant and shipped in winter, timed to your growing zone.

Free shipping on 4+ bundles ($80+). Orders under $80 ship for $15 flat.
