Overview
Bred in Italy by Rocco Maltesi as a cross between 7 Pot Bubblegum and Jay’s Peach Ghost Scorpion, the Fried Chicken pepper got its nickname from growers who thought its deeply wrinkled, blistered skin looked exactly like fried chicken skin. The vivid orange pods have rounded shoulders and a curled scorpion tail. The flavor comes in three stages: bright citrus up front, floral in the middle, and a sweet, earthy finish from its Bubblegum parentage. Very prolific in our beds.
