Overview
Cheiro Roxa, also called “Purple Perfume,” is a Brazilian heirloom chinense. It’s named for its rich aroma (cheiro means “scent” in Portuguese) and its striking color. The small, squat pods start deep purple and lighten to a soft, almost translucent pink-red as they ripen. You get habanero-style flavor with a fresh, sweet finish, at about half a habanero’s heat, on a very productive plant.
